RYA Yachtmaster Theory Course in Port Solent, Portsmouth, Hampshire, UK
The RYA Yachtmaster Theory is a course for those that wish to take their Day Skipper knowledge that step further, giving them the theory and confidence to make longer passages including night passages and how to operate in bad visibility.
Yachtmaster Theory is also a requirement for those that wish to move into the commercial market (over 10m craft).
The course covers all the subject matter covered in the Day Skipper Theory Course but in greater depth, so it would be an advantage to have sat the Day Skipper Theory prior to attending.
The RYA Yachmaster Theory Course:

- Lights – Sector - leading & directional
- Stability
- Tidal, Overfalls – races & eddies
- Principles of Weather, The life of a depression & Anticyclones
- Sea & Land breezes, Local winds
- Pilotage, Techniques & planning
- Restricted visibility
- Passage Planning
This is a 45hr course.
