The RYA Day Skipper Course is for those of you that wish to go that bit extra having completed your ICC or Helmsman Course.

The RYA Day Skipper Course provides you with a basic knowledge and confidence in the following topics:

Nautical terms Types of vessels Knots and rope work Anchoring Safety Equipment Fire Safety & Fire Fighting Emergency Procedures Rules of the Road Lights and Day Shapes Interpreting Charts Plotting your position Variation

Tidal Theory Tidal diamonds & Steams Dead Reckoning Estimated Positioning Course to steer Waypoints Buoyage Lights & Pilotage Weather Systems & Weather Forecasts Land & Sea Breezes Weather and Passage making Beauford Scale

These are the skills required to skipper a boat Safely and to Navigate from port to port and moor-up at the end of the day.

This is a 43hr course.
